Helping you find clarity and purpose as you move forward

A Modern, Solution-Focused Approach

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on your future goals rather than dwelling on past problems. By combining positive, forward-looking therapy with the gentle power of hypnosis, this modern approach helps you manage current challenges, reduce stress, build confidence, and develop a more resilient mindset.

To support your progress, I integrate techniques from well-established practices, including Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Together, these tools focus your attention on positive change and provide practical, beneficial coping strategies for daily life.

The Integration of Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy

Lasting change requires addressing both the conscious and subconscious aspects of how we think. For this reason, our one-hour sessions are structured to combine focused talking therapy with gentle subconscious retraining. Because we work with both levels of the mind, significant results can often be achieved in a relatively short period.

How a Session is Structured

  • Conscious Exploration (The First 30 Minutes): This client-led psychotherapy section focuses on identifying what you would like from life. Together, we clarify your goals and work out which unwanted behaviours and thought patterns need rewiring to get there.

  • Subconscious Integration (The Remaining 30 Minutes): We then transition into hypnosis. As your guide, I use gentle therapeutic techniques, such as guided reframing and visualisation, to allow the insights from our conversation to settle into the deeper parts of your mind.

Moving Beyond Intellectual Understanding

Most of us already know what we "should" be doing, and we usually have a reasonable idea of where our challenges stem from. However, intellectual understanding alone is rarely enough to change long-standing habits.

Our most unhelpful behaviours and belief systems are stored within the subconscious mind, which cannot be influenced by conscious talking alone. This is why willpower can feel limited. Hypnosis bridges this gap, allowing subtle, meaningful shifts to occur deep within the mind where automatic habits and deep-seated issues reside.

Understanding the Trance State

Hypnosis is simply a deeply relaxed state, sometimes referred to as trance, where the subconscious mind becomes more open to positive suggestions. It is very similar to daydreaming, or that quiet drifting feeling right before you fall asleep. This relaxed state allows us to resolve issues that may not be accessible through conscious thought alone.

It is important to know that despite this deep relaxation, you never lose control. Hypnosis is a collaborative process, and it is impossible to be influenced to do or say anything against your willpower, values, or desires. Anyone can experience trance, provided they are willing and open to the process.
